The Vampire Lestat

I've been absolutely obsessed with the Interview with the Vampire show, and the season 3 soundtrack has already burnt itself into my forever playlist, so I was contractually obliged to do some fan-art for it. Admittedly, what was supposed to be a small little project did very much get out of hand.

The base model started from my personal mesh which I adjusted to fit the more stylized feel. After the sculpting was done, I baked the lights and blocked in some basic colors, before taking it back to Zbrush where I did all the hand painting with a basic square brush. Whatever tiny details I couldn't achieve there, I managed in Photoshop. The rigging, posing and renders were all done in Blender, and the compositing finalized again in Photoshop.
Just for bragging rights, everything is real-time and production ready. Topping off at 50k polys without the hair, which is including all four outfits. With hair it's closer to 95k.

The shader set-up which I found worked the best for my hand-painted textures. Thanks to Ichiro Fujita for breaking this down on their Youtube channel.
